Portland author Jeff Mapes will be in Los Angeles on Saturday, May 30, to talk about his new book:  “Pedaling Revolution: How Cyclists are Changing American Cities.”

His book, which documents the growth of the urban bike movement, has been described by Joe Kurmaskie, author of “Metal Cowboy,” as “easily the best book-length examination of cycling culture and its connection to big-picture issues. It could do for bicycling what “Fast Food Nation” and “The Omnivore’s Dilemma” did to put food choices on people's radar, and what “The Long Emergency” has done to educate people about peak oil.”

Mapes will appear at Eco-Village, 121 Bimini Place, at 2 p.m. Saturday and at Flying Pigeon LA at 7 p.m. Saturday.  Both events are free and copies of the book will be available for sale and for signing.
